The Unmask and Come Home to Yourself Retreat is a carefully held, nature-based retreat at Selgars Mill in Devon, led by a highly experienced team of facilitators and therapists who know how to create a safe, nurturing space - a place where you can truly let go and know you will be supported and cared for.

Over four days, you are invited into a slower, more spacious rhythm, one that allows your nervous system to gradually settle and your body to begin to soften out of constant alertness.

There is no pressure to perform, share, or “get it right.”

Instead, the focus is on giving yourself space to finally turn inward, put your needs first, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe, grounded, and nourishing.

This retreat allows you to slow down, create room to breathe, calm your busy mind, and connect with who you truly are beneath the roles, adaptations, and ways you’ve had to navigate the world.

Who This Is For:

Highly Sensitive People, Deep feelers and processors - those who’ve always felt a little different

People who have spent years adapting, performing or “fitting in”

Those feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stretched, or mentally switched on

Individuals craving meaningful connection, but also space to be themselves

Anyone ready to stop masking and come home to who they truly are

You might look like you’re coping: you get things done, show up, and manage, but underneath, you feel:

Constant mental noise or difficulty switching off

Overstimulated, drained, or disconnected from yourself

Like you’re holding a lot internally while appearing “fine” externally

Different in ways you can’t always explain

A sense of not fully belonging or being truly seen

Very good at adapting to different environments and losing touch with who you are

And even rest doesn’t feel like real rest

Research tells us that 20- 30% of the population are Highly Sensitive People. We are born into this world with a unique set of traits that offer us depth of processing, empathy, and sensitivity to subtleties. We have great capacities and gifts to share with the world, but unfortunately, because of the fast-paced and overstimulating world we live in, many HSPs can struggle with overwhelm and anxiety and feel like they don’t quite belong. It can be difficult to articulate how we really feel and what our unique needs are.

There are so many retreats and workshops available for social-emotional well-being and spiritual development, yet they are not built for the temperament of high sensitivity. They can often feel overwhelming with not enough ‘downtime' and can leave you feeling more exhausted than when you started!

This is why we founded and created the HSP Retreat UK and are now expanding our offering to include regular in-person day retreats and workshops for our community. If you're curious to find out more you can download a free guide which introduces you to the Highly Sensitive Person. You don't need to know for certain you're a HSP to come on the retreat - you can join us if you're simply curious.

What People are Saying about the retreat:

'It was such an uplifting experience, conversations and connections flowed so naturally, because we could all relate to and understand each others interests, needs and desires, so instantly. The space was beautifully held, with so many nurturing activities, and amazing food, all really well paced and considered.

(Alex Wilding - Child Arts Counsellor / Entrepreneur, London)

The HSP retreat was a life changer for me.  I walked into the retreat feeling that I have suffered from social anxiety, and walked out realizing that I don't have a problem after all.

(Betsy, US)

Jules and Genevieve, the way you hold space, the quite, soft strength you both radiate, the unconditional respect and love you offer flowed throughout the entire weekend - and before and after. Your thoughtfulness in the poems, the words spoken, the meditations and music you both shared that were so beautifully in alignment with each element of the sessions, were what I am most grateful for/enjoyed the most. I also loved the dance session held by Josh, which was also hugely awakening for me.

(Lottie, UK - Breathwork Facilitator & Wellness Mentor @naturallylottie)

‘Thank you to everyone for the part you played in making this weekend what it was đŸ™đŸ» I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for helping to co-create the incredibly nourishing, healing and transformative experience that it was’

‘What a journey. What a rollercoaster. What an experience. Thank you so much everyone, sending so so soooo much love to you all’ 💛💛

A central part of the retreat is creating the space to step out of constant busyness and activation and into a place of calm, ease, and presence. For many highly sensitive people, daily life keeps the nervous system switched on, the mind racing, and the body holding tension. This retreat offers the opportunity to pause, relax, and simply be.

Through breathwork, gentle movement, rest, and time in nature, your body is invited to release accumulated stress, settle, and feel grounded. Over the course of the retreat, many people notice:

Their mind becomes quieter, less reactive, and easier to rest

Their body feels safer, calmer, and more at ease

They stop second-guessing themselves as much

Accessing clarity, presence, and self-trust becomes easier

This is not about pushing, fixing, or forcing change. It’s about allowing space for your system to settle, giving your body and mind permission to relax, and reconnecting with yourself in a supportive environment.

Being with like-minded others in a non-judgmental space further deepens the experience, offering connection alongside the freedom to simply breathe, rest, and be yourself.

What's Included...

Guided Mindfulness and Meditation

Throughout the retreat you'll be led through a series of guided meditations designed specifically for HSP to soothe and regulate the nervous system and help you to access expanded states of consciousness for greater wellbeing and spiritual connection.

Workshops on HSP

Jules and Genevieve will offer an informative workshop to help us explore our lived experience of high sensitivity, clarify the definitions of HSP and explore tools to support us with the more challenging aspects of being an HSP so we can access our gifts and capacities.

Candle-lit Himalayan and crystal bowls sound bath

We'll guide you through a healing and transformative sound bath with Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and other instruments. The sounds will be gentle and soothing and adapted for those of us with sensitive nervous systems.

Ecstatic & Conscious Dance

Josh Silver from Ecstatic Dance Bristol will guide us through a deeply healing dance, sharing his meditative and sacred sounds. This practice is extremely liberating and transformative for those of us who are seeking a space to tap into the deeper aspects of ourselves.

Breath-Work

Breathwork offers a direct and accessible way to regulate your nervous system, gently shifting from overwhelm into a state of grounded presence and safety. By consciously working with the breath, you can release held tension, reconnect with your body, and cultivate a deeper sense of inner stability, clarity, and emotional resilience.

Guided Sharing Circles

The sharing circle offers a safe and held space where you can be seen, heard, and witnessed without judgment or interruption. For Highly Sensitive People, this kind of intentional space can be deeply regulating and affirming, allowing experiences, emotions, and insights to be expressed and integrated.

Optional Sauna

The sauna will be available throughout the retreat for those who wish to use it, offering a gentle and restorative way to support the nervous system. Heat exposure has been shown to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and help the body release physical tension, which can be particularly beneficial for Highly Sensitive People who may carry stress more deeply.

1-1 Breathwork Sessions

There will be the opportunity to book 1–1 breathwork sessions with breathwork facilitator Alan Piatek. These individual sessions offer a deeper, tailored experience, allowing you to work at your own pace with the breath to release tension, regulate the nervous system, and access deeper layers of insight. It can be a powerful way to support integration during the retreat, within a safe and guided one-to-one space.

Inner child connection practices

Throughout the retreat, we will be offering guided inner child connection practices. These sessions invite curiosity, compassion, and playfulness, allowing you to explore unmet needs, emotions, and memories that may still be present beneath the surface. For many Highly Sensitive People, this work can be deeply healing, helping to restore a sense of safety, self-acceptance, and wholeness.

Alongside these structured practices, there are also informal, human moments woven into the retreat:

Fireside gatherings and marshmallow toasting — a space to slow down, connect, and enjoy simple pleasures

Gentle rituals around the fire to support reflection and release

Storytelling and shared experiences that foster connection and resonance

Opportunities to sing together in a relaxed, welcoming space

There is also plenty of time for solitude, reflection, and being in nature, allowing space to integrate your experience and simply be.

What Participants Often Take Away

By the end of the retreat, many people describe shifts that feel subtle, yet deeply meaningful. These often include:

A quieter mind and a more settled body

A deeper sense of self-acceptance

Clearer awareness of personal needs, boundaries, and energy

Feeling more comfortable being themselves around others

A sense of belonging both within themselves and within a like-minded community

Many participants also report experiencing profound insights into their patterns, behaviours, and inner world - moments that feel illuminating, grounding, and personally transformative.

And perhaps most importantly: A felt sense of “I can just be myself here.”

For those who have experienced lifelong anxiety, the constant pressure to perform, or the need to manage how others see them, this retreat often brings relief, clarity, and renewed energy, alongside the realisation that there was never anything wrong with them. It’s a chance to reconnect with themselves, and to step into a space where they can fully inhabit who they are without judgement or effort.

Dr Genevieve von Lob

Clinical Psychologist and Parenting Coach

Genevieve is a clinical psychologist, conscious parenting coach and author. After 15 years working in the NHS, private practice in Harley Street and inside big corporations, she wrote two parenting books with Penguin, including ‘Five Deep Breaths: The Power of Mindful Parenting.’

Genevieve is one of the leading experts in the UK on high sensitivity in children, with regular appearances in the media including BBC Woman’s Hour, Channel 4 and The Guardian and has appeared on webinars with Sensitivity Research. Genevieve specialises in working with highly sensitive children and their parents. She is the author of “The Resonant Parenting Project,” and “The HSP Revolution.”

In the 20 years since Genevieve qualified as a psychologist, Genevieve has helped hundreds of people from all walks of life transform trauma and stress into a greater sense of confidence, ease and flow. But her own healing journey has taught her that a supportive community can be the catalyst for transformation on a whole new level.

Born to a single mother in an alternative community in the east of England, Genevieve’s earliest experiences of feeling safe and protected in a village-like atmosphere laid the foundations for her later professional interest in community healing spaces.

While earning her psychology doctorate, Genevieve wrote a thesis on the psychological benefits of group singing. But it was only in her late 20s, when she was starting to confront unresolved traumas and losses from her own past, that she began to discover the true power of healing in community.

Over a period of several years, Genevieve explored countless healing modalities, investigating everything from nature connection to shamanic drumming, sound bowls and ecstatic dance. When she stumbled upon a sweat lodge ceremony in Oxfordshire in southern England, she finally understood what it meant to feel truly safe and held. The community there was so supportive that for the first time she truly felt comfortable being vulnerable in front of others, and never felt judged. Nobody stepped in to try to fix or rescue – but they did bear witness, and it was in that space that Genevieve did some of the most profound work on herself. Running retreats for highly sensitive people represents the fulfillment of a vision that Genevieve has held ever since that time – of creating healing spaces where people can find sanctuary, connect and learn from others on the same journey, and rediscover who they really are.
