Supporting the social-emotional wellbeing of highly sensitive children inside and outside the classroom, with tools you can use in the room the next morning.
A 3-month certificate for the teachers, coaches, therapists and parents who want a real framework for supporting the 1 in 5 children who feel everything more deeply.
Self-paced and fully online · 40 hours of professional development
There is usually one in every classroom, every club, every caseload. The child who notices what nobody else noticed. Who cries easily and is told they are too sensitive. Who comes home from a busy day completely overstimulated and unravels at the door.
High sensitivity, known in the research as sensory processing sensitivity, is an innate trait rather than a disorder, and it is found in roughly 1 in 5 children. The research is also clear that these children do not simply struggle more in difficult environments, they flourish more in nurturing ones than their peers do.
Which means the adults around them matter enormously. Without someone who understands the trait, sensitive children learn early that something is wrong with them, and their self-esteem and confidence carry that cost for years.
“Why do I cry so easily?”
“Why does everything feel like too much?”
“Why can't I just get on with things like everyone else?”
“Why do I need so much time alone?”
“Is there something wrong with me?”
These are the questions highly sensitive adults tell us they were carrying as children, often for decades, before anyone gave them the language for the trait. Understanding it early changes the whole trajectory.
The course is designed for experienced professionals and for those newer to working with children. Every tool and resource can be applied in a professional setting or at home.
Supporting the social-emotional wellbeing of highly sensitive children inside and outside the classroom, with tools you can use in the room the next morning.
Working with young people in schools, private practice or community settings, and wanting a defined niche grounded in research rather than instinct alone.
Looking for an HSP-affirming, trauma-aware framework to bring into an existing practice, alongside a clear sense of your own scope of practice.
Working one to one with young people in schools or independently, who want to understand why some students need a different pace and a quieter room.
Exploring how to support your own highly sensitive child, and very often recognising something of yourself along the way.
Running workshops, clubs or activities where sensitive children need a space designed for their nervous systems rather than one they have to endure.
Whichever of these you are, you almost certainly became it because you noticed something in a child that other people walked past.
Each module includes a pre-recorded webinar, self-paced lessons, downloadable workbooks and reading materials. The recommended schedule is 12 weeks at 3 to 4 hours a week, and you can take it slower if life needs you to.
A Highly Sensitive Child
Informed Practitioner
This is a practical training, not a theory course. Everything is designed to be taken straight into a classroom, a session or a kitchen table conversation. By the end you will have:
To receive certification you complete a work-based project exploring how your learning applies in your own professional context. You are supported through it throughout the training, and it is built around a real challenge rather than a hypothetical one.
You start by thinking of a current challenge or curiosity faced by you, your organisation, or the children you work with. From there, the project has three aims:
There is no single format. Your project takes whatever shape is most useful in your setting and reflects your own voice, which is why so many students end up using theirs long after the training finishes.
10 to 15 hours is the recommended time to spend on the project across the whole training, and it counts towards your certified hours.
Everything in the training sits inside one holistic framework for empowering the social-emotional wellbeing of highly sensitive children, across four areas of their life.
Emotions, mindset and behaviour understood through the lens of a sensitive nervous system rather than a difficult temperament.
Developing healthy relationships with others, including boundaries that hold and communication that feels safe to attempt.
Connection and awareness of the wider environment, which sensitive children very often feel more keenly than anyone around them.
Nurturing the child's own sense of meaning and expression, and empowering the innate gifts of sensitivity from a young age.
The aim is not to help sensitive children cope with the world as it is, but to help them thrive in it as they are.

“Jules has developed a fantastic course, covering so many modules which hugely resonated with me as a HSP, from learning about the trait itself to a framework for coaching, internal family systems and parts work, the shadow and self-compassion.
